On Ideology And Rights
One must wonder that for every person, there is a wordview they hold dear. It extends to the objects of their deepest affections, whether personal or impersonal, that oftentimes does not or cannot coincide with their current situation. I have devised a methodology of moral and ethical codes that might codify this particular predicament. Say you know a girl and she has books by notorious man-hater and comedian Andrea Dworkin. she is also a self-described communist, loves Karl Marx, and everything he stands for. say you went to her house. Her house is situated in one of the most prestigous neighborhoods in the city. Since Marxists dispose of the idea of private property, her possessions are now yours. Say for instance you're a libertarian. you by all rights, should be able to dispose of her possessions at your will, which is your own unique will prescribed by ideology. take those Dworkin books. burn them. if she relents, no one should be able to intervene, save for the rogue police, a third party that might try and take you down. Since she says she owns them, she is obviously lying since Marx placed no actual limits on what personal property is used or disposed of, since there are no rules regarding ownership of items that are obviously produced by collective means, by other people, and she does not (clearly) own the means in which these books were produced. however, if the items are produced by an independent publisher, and she does not share the ideology of the producer, that item procured is automatically theft unless a lump sum was paid and therefore she ceases to be a communist. Now if the publisher is a collective of workers, then mutual exchange is fine, however, repeating what was stated before, as libertarian you still have a right to burn private property of communists, as that is a contradictory assesment. one cannot be a socialist and think they "own" things, unless things are shared in common with other communists, protecting their collective interest is tantamount. That however does not remit individualist, rentlords from getting their just due. So if the communist wants to survive in this multipolar community, they must give up (as most self-declared western Marxists do) their repulsion towards firearms, to defend collective interest against individual wants. You might ask, what of third positionists? well, in that case the mutual interests are the self interest, insofar as if they own something, it should be defended a priori from an individual, empircal standpoint of property rights, which in turn, a posteri, benefits the collective consciousness and cohesion of the group. every individual has their place, which in a well designed hierarchy, benefits the classes below and the classes above. So is stealing from them permissible? no, because they still defend the right to property as a natural right of all. but they do benefit, as noted, from mutual exchange as well.
